Meet the Heart of the House: Aziza & Mbarak. With us since 2005

What truly makes this riad feel like home is not just the space — it’s the people who care for it.
Aziza and Mbarak have been with our family since the very beginning, tending to the riad with quiet pride, kindness, and integrity. For nearly two decades, they have welcomed guests from around the world with the same gentle warmth and attentiveness they show to their own loved ones.
Aziza
House Manager & Chef Extraordinaire
Aziza is the soul of the house. As our trusted house manager and the culinary genius behind every meal, she ensures that your stay is seamless, soulful, and deeply nourishing. Her cooking has been described by guests as the best in Marrakech— and many return year after year just to taste her tagines again.
She prepares daily breakfasts at your preferred time and offers beautifully curated lunches and dinners upon request, often tailored to your taste. Her attention to detail goes far beyond the kitchen — Aziza arranges private taxis, accompanies guests to the traditional hammam, organises in-house treatments, and ensures your every need is met with care and discretion.
She speaks fluent French and conversational English, and most importantly, the universal language of hospitality.

Mbarak
Caretaker & Guide
Mbarak is the quiet presence behind the scenes who keeps the house flowing smoothly. From early-morning walks through the quieter corners of Marrakech, to tending the garden, courtyard, and pool, to ensuring the house is secure and beautifully maintained — Mbarak works with devotion and grace.
He also assists with supplies, can arrange purchases on your behalf, and is always happy to guide you gently through the winding streets if it’s your first time in the Medina.

A Different Kind of Care
Unlike many riads, both Aziza and Mbarak are fully registered with local authorities and receive full social security benefits. This has always been important to us — that the people who care for the house are cared for in return.
We trust them completely, and most guests do too. If you’d like someone to remain on-site overnight for peace of mind, either Aziza or Mbarak will be happy to do so.
Should you wish to leave a gratuity at the end of your stay, this is entirely optional but always appreciated. Many guests choose to offer 300–350 MAD per staff member for smaller groups, with a little more for larger gatherings.
