A House with History, Restored with Heart
DarTzt is a 17th-century riad brought back to life by our family with the help of local artisans and traditional methods. Tucked near the shrine of Sidi Bel Abbes in one of Marrakech’s oldest quarters, the house was lovingly restored over two years by John Shield — who followed an instinct, not a blueprint. What stands today is a peaceful, soulful retreat that honours its origins while holding space for new stories to unfold.
